Body Building Commitment

This will be an on-going blog of body building techniques, methods, mental and nutritional advice.

Before you start your body building or just toning up program, you will need a mission. What/Who do you want to be? Do you want to have huge muscles, tone up, lose weight then grow muscle? Whatever the reason is you need to focus on that. Have that in your mind throughout every workout. Ultimately you need to trust yourself and more importantly, you have to dig down deep and produce the best of your mental abilities. Anyone can build muscle and lots of it, but you need that mental strength, that DRIVE to succeed.

There are two tools which you will need in order to build muscle.

Time – You will need to put in your time to grow muscle. We all are surrounded by busy lifestyles which can get in the way of your plans to grow muscle, but if you plan in advance a schedule of what time of the day you will focus on training and of course meals, you shouldn’t have any problem with time. There are 24 hours in a day; you sleep for 6-8 hours, ideally 7 hours. So that leaves you with between 16-18 hours of the day. 7 of which you will be working, so if you work out how much time you have remaining in the day, you can plan out when to train. Time is precious; you can never get back time, so use it wisely.

Commitment – I hear a lot from people say that they will leave a task to tomorrow. What you do tomorrow you could have done today! Being committed is essential; you need to be committed to reach your fitness goals. The best advice I can give is to set an actual goal, this could be a time limit of say 100 day transformation, 1 year, it is entirely your decision. Or you could set a goal to compete and go up on stage. If that is your goal, don’t listen to the people who say it’s impossible you need years to do that. Do not listen to negative contributions, cast them aside and focus on what you want and desire your future to be.

Trust in yourself and everything will fall into place.

The only way to succeed and progress is through mental strength, everyone has positivity in their mind, it’s up to you to release it and keep that release balanced. Sure there will be times where you feel like giving up, but that’s normal and it’s only a momentary thought. One useful tip for motivational value is to surround yourself with the industry. Follow people on twitter who you admire, joining Facebook pages. It all helps. Socialise around people who have the same goals as you.

Building muscle will take time, you have to be patient, it won’t happen overnight.
